Finally, a new installment!

Lots has happened. First of all, I started a new position at work in late March. That was a big change, and there is a lot more work to do. So far, things are working out pretty well, and I'm enjoying things quite well.

Shawn and I celebrated our fourth anniversary in Fresno. He gave me a nice tour of Madera, CA, and I will have to post some photos of that trip soon. We had a nice dinner that weekend, and I got a new PC game as a present, but I ended up giving it to Shawn since I didn't like it much. He bought me a new watch instead, so that was great!

I took another trip to Fresno the end of April. My friend, Valerie, and I drove up together as her mom lives in Clovis (next to Fresno) and she was due for a visit. Having a companion certainly made the drive go a lot faster, and we stopped at In-N-Out Burger on the way up and the way back. Now, that's a tradition I can enjoy! She actually introduced me to a new concept, which is the "3x2", or essentially, 3 beef patties and 2 cheese slices. It was great as I'm so into beef right now. Shawn took me to a winery in Madera, and that was fun. We bought a few bottles, and I gave them to friends as souvenirs.

May was a pretty non eventful month, which I think is good. Shawn came down for Memorial Day weekend.

Fast forward to late June, and Shawn's apartment was destroyed in a fire! Eric went with me up to Fresno so that we could help get him settled into a new place. That was a lot of work. I'll post some of the pictures for that. We didn't spend our entire 4th of July weekend working, though. We got to see Superman Returns in Imax 3D, so that was cool. I still didn't like the movie...

OK. I haven't updated the site for a while, and there are reasons for that. Most of all, I've been lazy, but what you don't see outright is that I did an entire redesign of how I was handling the content placement as well as the header and nav bar in the pages. IF you had noticed this change, then you are either pretty savvy or you found a problem! Today I added a new link from the Pictures section to add the new information and photos from my WBC trips this year. The photos aren't present yet, so you probably should wait 'til I get around to adding them later. At least the trip descriptions are there, which is an accomplishment in itself.

So, of late, I've been extremely busy with all the things in my life. I thought that when Shawn moved to Fresno that I'd have all kinds of time on my hands to get caught up on all the little projects I've been neglecting. Well, I was wrong! I managed to fill the time up with new stuff instead. Well, it isn't all that bad. I am taking my second semester of Italian, and I've taken WBC again so that I can go on the fun outings. Shawn was down last weekend, and he did help me get the apartment organized finally (that only took 1 1/2 months!) Also, I start my new position at work Mar. 20th. I'm quite excited to be doing some new, different stuff. The trip to Italy is planned for early/mid October in Rome and Florence. I'm looking forward to that as well!

A final note: I'm going to have the home page have a format more resembling a blog. This is because it will be less formal than I've been keeping it, and it will encourage me to jot some stuff down more often. I will add the ability to add comments soon!
